Job Summary
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day support of switches, wireless access points, and plant connectivity.
- Troubleshoot basic wired and wireless issues: locate the port, confirm the device is up, and document it.
- Update equipment, IP address, and site records when gear is installed, moved, or removed.
- Check devices against team standards (logging, DNS, time, login banner) and prepare routine fixes for an admin.
- Check wireless access-point status and controller assignment, and record the result.
- Shadow planned changes and write clear notes. Production changes stay with a network administrator.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma, currently in or graduating from a technology-related degree (ex. Soph., Junior)
- Desired Degree Focus: IT, networking, or computer science
